News:
- W1BVT, Bill Clark, is stepping away from emergency communications work. Thank
you Bill for your
contributions.
That means there is an opening in Bennington for DEC and we have no ECs in
Bennington either.
- Organizational structure of ARES (main emergency coordinator roles)
- Emergency Coordinator (EC) closest to the individual community they serve.
- District Emergency Coordinator (DEC) supports the ECs in their district.
- Section Emercengy Coordinator (SEC) supports the DECs and ECs in their
section.
- For the full list and job responsibilities, please visit ARRL.
- We will be looking into emergency use only Winlink gateways. These will require
users with solid backup power and would be able to step in as store-and-retrieve stations in the
event of congestion on the normal gateways during an emergency and handle issues where P2P is
not practical. Anyone interested, please let me know. The more redundant systems we have in
place, the better we can protect and assist.
- WINLINK- Use week three's ICS form to sign up to receive and ICS in week 4.
